After a fall semester in Florence sealed her post-Sewanee fate, Mary graduated and boarded a one-way flight to Rome. Despite singlehandedly debunking the 'Dolce Vita' myth through her various odd jobs and misadventures, she couldn't resist Italy's pull and decided to stick around. Now back in Florence, she serves as associate editor and events manager of English language news magazine The Florentine. Apart from writing and editing, her work has included extensive Italian-English translation, most notably for the third UNESCO World Forum.
Beyond The Florentine, Mary is co-authoring a guidebook, oversees Florence content for travel app Like a Local, and provides client services and consulting for international tour operator Context Travel. Her long-term aim -- for today -- is to continue combining her interests in writing and social media, art and aesthetics, and sustainable tourism.
