After Sewanee, Jason received two graduate degrees in religious studies – first, a MTS from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a MA from the University of Virginia. At UVa, he has worked in student affairs with fraternity and sorority life and the Women’s Center and in governance with school policy and administration. As a confluence of his scholarly interests and administrative experiences, he continued his research in the PhD program in higher education. Currently at UVa’s Contemplative Sciences Center, he is developing programs and initiatives for undergraduate students that utilize the medical research on contemplative practice, the social scientific research on undergraduate education, and the humanities literature on contemplation. During his doctoral work, he and his partner, Ellen (’05), have welcomed two children into their family – Hollis in 2012 and Simon in 2014.
