Thank you & stay safe

Dear Sewanee students,

As we pass the halfway point of this unique and challenging semester, the Sewanee Police Department joins our colleagues in thanking you for complying with the University's COVID-19 protocols. You have all done an outstanding job helping to #ProtectTheBubble. We still have about five weeks to go, but we can all be proud of our work so far. Keep it up!

Recently the SPD has responded to an increased number of motor vehicle accidents on and off campus. While not all of these have involved alcohol, some of the accidents have been the result of impaired driving. Please remember, if you are drinking, do not drive—arrange for a sober driver or just walk.

The Sewanee Police Department’s number one priority is the safety of every member of the community. When you are behind the wheel, take a couple extra seconds to observe your surroundings on the road and in parking lots, and exercise caution around crosswalks.

EQB,

Chip Schane
Director, Emergency Services/Public Safety
