Neuroscience at Sewanee

Neuroscience is a highly interdisciplinary field that spans the study of everything from single molecules to brain-wide circuits. The Sewanee neuroscience curriculum is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of cellular/molecular, behavioral, and cognitive approaches to exploring the brain. Flexible electives allow our students to expand their training into many related fields, including biomedical and health sciences, computational modeling, chemistry, and philosophy.

Bonner Leaders Program

Bonner students at Sewanee are a group of dedicated and engaged individuals working collaboratively for positive social change. The Bonner Program is a four-year, service and leadership-based college paid internship program that affords students an "opportunity to serve." The program is designed to transform not only the students who are directly supported by the program, but also the campus and community in which they serve and learn.

Greek Life at Sewanee

Joining a Greek organization is one way to find community and belonging here at Sewanee. Membership provides a place with people to count on. Fraternities and sororities strive to enhance the college experience by challenging members to achieve academic excellence, develop leadership potential, and give back to the local community. Greek Life at Sewanee comprises 18 organizations—10 fraternities and eight sororities. We have nine local organizations—two fraternities and seven sororities, and around 64% of undergraduate students belong to a fraternity or sorority.

Sewanee provides funding for an approved summer internship or research fellowship, a semester-long study abroad opportunity at no additional tuition cost, and the ability to graduate with one major in four years. Of course, you will have to do your part. If you meet Sewanee’s academic and social expectations, these opportunities will be provided.
