Career Readiness + Student Success is your first stop for getting connected to the resources you may need. You will receive holistic support as you find your purpose, progress toward achieving your goals, and live your best and most fulfilling life on campus. We are home to integrated advising, flourishing programs, and career readiness.

Come meet with a Career Readiness + Student Success coach who can provide tools for academic support, career readiness, time management, and finding connections on campus. Stop in or make an appointment with a coach or advisor online via your Student Success Portal.

Academic Support

Different types of learners need different types of learning environments and support to manage the rigors and expectations in the classroom. Using a variety of resources, we are able to cater to more than just one learning style.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

SAS helps to ensure that students with disabilities are afforded an equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from the programs, services, and activities of the College through the identification and enactment of reasonable modifications to policies and procedures, the provision of auxiliary aids and services, and the establishment of innovative educational services. At Sewanee, we recognize students for their abilities, rather than their disabilities, or stereotypical attributes ascribed to their respective physical or mental impairments.

Any kind of gender-related aggression, disrespect, or sexual violence hurts our whole community. It’s on us—all of us—to make Sewanee the kind of community we want to live in, and where everyone can be successful.

S.T.I.X. Information

The University requires all first-year students prior to matriculation to participate in an online training on alcohol use, abuse, and sex discrimination. The online program specifically includes a module on sex discrimination and key definitions, including consent.

Equity takes difference into account to create opportunities for individuals to flourish. When a community values equity, we have fewer challenges related to discrimination, and we develop an ability to take care of ourselves and others.

International affairs

We are dedicated to training students to address global problems and promoting activities that link Sewanee with the rest of the world. As part of that effort, we strive to cultivate global citizens in our community who can effectively engage across boundaries and respond to challenges facing the world.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is responsible for providing programs, activities, and general support for students of color. To make the college experience for all students as successful and as meaningful as possible, this Office works also to provide leadership in the development of successful principles and practices regarding recruitment and retention of students of color.

Mental/Physical health resources

Counseling and Psychological Services

CAPS offers short-term based therapy and psychological services to undergraduate students at the University. It offers assessment and evaluation, short-term group and individual therapy, psychiatric services with medicine management, and crisis services.

On Call Counseling Support (x1700) Protocall

Protocall is the after-hours emergency service is available for the undergraduate students who are experiencing a mental health crisis after business hours.

Well-being isn't just the absence of mental illness. We should associate flourishing with resilience, a sense of purpose and meaning in life, a sense of belonging, good relationships, and overall thriving both personally and within our Sewanee community. Substance & Abuse

Sewanee promotes healthier choices regarding alcohol and other drugs, aimed at reducing the prominence of alcohol on campus, reducing the harms and high-risk behaviors that alcohol and other drugs bring to campus life, and to support the educational mission of the University by offering a healthy and supportive environment.

By providing health care which is patient-centered, integrated, and delivered in a culture of inclusivity and respect, the University Health Services’ mission is to help students achieve optimal health so that they have the opportunity to fully enjoy the pursuit their academic goals.
