Research interests include Medieval art and architecture, Spanish Romanesque art and architecture, Islamic art, Spanish Islamic (Andalusi) art, and the mosque of Cordoba.
Momplet was born in Buenos Aires and moved to Spain as a child. He has spent the second-largest amount of time in the U.S., including more than two and a half years in Sewanee since 1989.
