Born and raised in Rhode Island, Derek Ettensohn received his B.A. from Haverford College before earning his Ph.D in English at Brown University. His research and teaching interests include the world Anglophone novel, global environmental fictions, and human rights and literature.
He teaches in both the English Department and Humanities program. His current research project examines how the contemporary Anglophone novel contributes to and shapes discussions of globalism and humanitarianism.
