Regardless of your path, Sewanee is your first step toward success. We help you follow your passion, whether that's summer nanotechnology research, a neuroscience internship in Los Angeles, an economics career in New York City, medical school in Chicago, or returning to your home country after graduation. Through Curricular Practical Training (CPT), international students are able to pursue off-campus internships as part of their program of study.

Internships

Curricular Practical Training gives international students practical experience in their fields of study. From working with community health clinics in rural Africa to working for Fortune 500 countries in New York City, our international students find real-world experience during their four years at Sewanee.

Research

International students actively participate in summer research both in the U.S. and abroad. The Sewanee Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program (SURF) pairs students with academic faculty on research projects.

Honors

A large number of international students earn places in honor societies at Sewanee, such as on the Dean's List and in the Order of the Gown.

Life After Sewanee

Sewanee's academics, research and internship funding, and co-curricular opportunities equip graduates to succeed. Over 95% of international graduates pursue a graduate degree or use Optional Practical Training to enter the workforce within six months of graduation.
