Sewanee's Integrated Program in the Environment is one of the premier collections of environmental offerings in the country.
Our model teaching farm inspires the adoption of life-affirming food systems.
Sewanee's core liberal arts curriculum means you’ll dig deep to get a fuller understanding of the world and your place in it.
Art asks us to focus on technical, aesthetic, and critical themes. It invokes response, recalls emotions, draws on memory, and encourages us to act. At Sewanee, you'll have the opportunity to participate in 7 art departments and programs.
Sewanee Cares is how we promote well-being. It’s a framework for our expectations, policies, and practices in managing mental and physical health and the learning environment.
Ninety-eight percent of Sewanee students live on campus. Accommodations range from traditional doubles and singles to an assortment of suite options. First-year students live in residence halls while sophomores, juniors, and seniors have additional options like language houses and themed living communities.
Sewanee is on top of a mountain, but that doesn't mean you'll be culinarily isolated. Chef Rick Wright oversees four on-campus dining options that are complemented by several local spots that serve craveable bites, too. After all, we know that you hunger for more than knowledge.

Feeling lost? Your admission counselor is available to you during every step of the admission process. Questions about applying for need-based aid? Reach out to the Office of Financial Aid. We are all here for you. We promise.
Sewanee provides funding for an approved summer internship or research fellowship, a semester-long study abroad opportunity at no additional tuition cost, and the ability to graduate with one major in four years. Of course, you will have to do your part. If you meet Sewanee’s academic and social expectations, these opportunities will be provided.
Our small classes mean that your voice will be heard, your contribution will be expected, and your opinion will be listened to (and disagreed with, and challenged, and seen from a different perspective, and pushed in a new direction, and considered—and you know what? Maybe we’re both right. See how it works?).
We're a community where everyone has a place and there's a place for everyone. Group study? We'll bring our notes. Rock climbing? We're geared up and ready. Jam session? Sure, we'll play with you. Whatever you want to do, at Sewanee, you'll never have to go it alone. Unless you need your space. Then, we totally get it.
