Summer 2023 conference

June 25 - July 8

The website has been updated for 2023 (except for the Guest Authors’ page). You may apply at any time, but we strongly encourage you to have your completed application, including the required recommendation form, to us no later than Friday, February 17, 2023, which means you should apply much earlier than the 17th, so your teacher has time to receive and complete the form.

Are you currently a high-school student who is passionate about creative writing? Explore this website to learn about our program. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

THIS YEAR, in addition to workshops in poetry and fiction, we are offering three specialized courses, two for the first time: (1) Songwriting; (2) Memoir and Literary Journalism; and (3) Fantasy, Science Fiction, Fabulism: Short Fiction through a Fantastic Lens. You will find the course descriptions on the FAQ and Faculty pages, as well as on the application. AGAIN THIS YEAR, we will also be offering multiple craft classes, taught by our faculty and special guests, as well as opportunities to meet with our expert in revision daily to discuss work written before you arrive in Sewanee.
