Friday, March 6
12:00pm-1:00pm
Center for Teaching (duPont 2nd floor)

At this Teach & Tell, Kate Cammack will share her experiences incorporating a service-learning experience into her laboratory course (PSYC350 Drugs & Behavior). Students analyzed data collected from a drug/alcohol survey administered in local schools and prepared deliverables (e.g., informational brochures for community stakeholders) for their community partner, a drug prevention coalition.

Discussion will include the many ways we might encourage students to apply their classroom knowledge to help address real-world issues (including in STEM courses), and think in integrative and cross-disciplinary ways at earlier points in their education. This work was developed as part of the Civic Engagement Faculty Fellows program.
