Mark Hopwood and Eric Keen will share their experiences teaching new civic engagement classes. In Eric’s course “Ecology of Home”, students were challenged to consider the role of home life in thinking locally against the prevailing cliché of ‘thinking globally’ while engaged in service projects in the area.
In Mark’s course, “Public Philosophy,” students are learning about the theory and practice of public philosophy through civic engagement projects with community partners community partners including Sewanee Elementary School and the Grundy County Jail.
