The Domain is home to more than 65 miles of hiking trails. The signature Perimeter Trail, is a 20-mile loop that circles much of the Domain and provides a hiking experience unparalleled anywhere else in the region. With 13,000 acres, there are plenty to choose from—these are our favorite.

Sewanee is home to the Tennessee Williams Center, a state-of-the-art facility where the Department of Theatre and Dance put on numerous performances throughout the year; faculty and staff can attend all events free of charge.
The visual arts are thriving at Sewanee, with three dedicated gallery spaces including the University Art Gallery, which hosts 3-4 exhibitions from world renowned artists each year as well as artist talks, educational opportunities for the campus and the broader community, and more.
Sewanee is home to the renowned Sewanee Summer Music Festival, which brings world class musicians and music students together each summer. Faculty and staff can attend all performances for free or at a significant discount.
Sewanee's Music department hosts a community symphony orchestra (in which all faculty and staff can participate!), as well as the University choir, Sewanee Praise gospel choir, and a jazz ensemble. Performances are given throughout the academic year, free for faculty, staff, and students.
