Fox Rothschild congratulates Partner Catherine B. Mitchell, C'07, who was named to the 2024 Real Estate Power List by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. The annual list recognizes North Carolina’s leading lawyers in real estate. Touted as “a skilled advocate for commercial real estate clients,” Mitchell has handled over $2 billion in transactions over the last decade. This includes leading a team that closed a difficult $22 million commercial mortgage-backed securities loan to refinance nine properties across five states. “I learned that the more challenging a deal is, the more rewarding it is,” she told North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. “One of the most valuable assets I can offer a client is a good team.” Her career began in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. At that time, she focused her practice on foreclosure litigation. “I often tap into my foreclosure experience when structuring deals for long-term success,” says Mitchell. Mitchell is providing pro bono assistance to businesses in the historic Biltmore Village area of Asheville as they recover from Hurricane Helene. She is an active member of CREW Charlotte, which provides advancement opportunities for women in commercial real estate and related services. She was recently inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
