Nikki Etheride Merritt, C'95, Traveled to London and Paris in the summer of 2024 with fellow Sewanee graduates, Dawn White Pumpelly C'94, Sarah Metzgar Steffner C'94, and Ashley Neal Pritchett C'96. Will C'96 joined me in Paris to attend the French Open at Roland Garros where we ended up being seated right next to Miles Kirkland C'94. YSR!
Publishing this July, Planning for Rites and Rituals: A Resource for Episcopal Worship: Year A is an indispensable guide to curating resources for worship in the Episcopal Church. Editor Andrew Wright, C'95 has applied his years of experience in planning liturgy at parishes across the Episcopal Church and mentoring clergy to this revision. It includes guidance for making seasonal choices among the church’s authorized worship resources, brief commentary on each Sunday’s readings, guidance in approaching the Prayers of the People, and suggestions for observing commemorations from the church’s calendar.

Elizabeth Nelson Dawson, MD, C' 97, founded the Troy Resilience Project, a Family Resource Center located in Troy, AL with the mission of building resilience in children and families. In 2023 Elizabeth received the Ray E Helfer MD award from the Children’s Trust Fund Alliance for her local, state, and national work in child abuse and neglect prevention. Her work is driven by her study of the pathophysiology of adversity and belief in the healing power of resilience. Elizabeth was named as a recipient of the Women Who Shape the State of Alabama in 2024 for her work in Pediatrics and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
