The Babson Center collaborates with business organizations across campus to offer fundamental skills in investing, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy and provide professional networking opportunities.

 

Smith Career Day

Hosted by Sewanee Career Readiness and the Babson Center for Global Commerce each September, Smith Career Day give Sewanee students a chance to interact with young alumni to learn more about the fields of banking, consulting, and finance. The day consists of 1:1 conversations, panel discussions, and presentations that provide students from all majors with guidance on how to succeed in the recruiting and hiring process as well as how helping them to chart a path towards a rewarding careers in those fields.

Conferences & Events

A generous endowment allows the Babson Center to provide scholarships for hand-selected Sewanee students to attend major finance and investment conferences. This provides an opportunity to meet peers and engage with senior leaders from government, the financial press, and major corporations.

CFA Scholarship

 

The Babson Center for Global Commerce provides substantial funding for select students to help pay for the costs associated with the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) level one exam, the most respected and recognized investment management designation in the world.  Completing the CFA Program shows employers and clients you have mastered a broad range of practical portfolio management skills, advanced investment analysis skills, and real-world portfolio management skills. Go for it! Road Trips

Go For It! tours allow students to visit a variety of companies in different industries to gain a deeper understanding of how businesses operate. We believe experiential learning and engagement in a real business setting combined with traditional classroom instructions create a more prepared and informed individual.
