SPAN 300 sections A and B: This course will unfold with a mix of in-person classes (students-professor live interaction) and online synchronous classes. Each section (A/B) will be divided in two (group 1, group 2) and Mondays and Wednesdays we will alternate content and activities.

For example: Alexis, from section A, group 1 will meet on Monday to discuss a film and on Wednesday, synchronously, she will work from 'home' in an specific task (let say, translate a poem) that has to be done between 8:00 and 8:50 am. Paul, from section A, group 2 [Check banner to see in what section you are registered] will translate a poem on Monday and will discuss the film on Wednesday in class. Basically, we will alternate and every student will receive the same content.

Small groups facilitate enormously the work in language classes, so believe it or not, this is an opportunity. Oral and written examinations will be on-line via google forms and synchronously. Office hours will be outside when weather permits or by zoom.

This model depends on the commitment of every student to wear a facemask during class time and to not interrupt the class. Policy: No mask = No class. In-person classes obviously depend on the professor's health.

I truly suggest to start watching films in Netflix, engage in at least 5 hours weekly of Spanish; read short news in https://elpais.com/america/ , https://www.bbc.com/mundo , here more in slow Spanish: https://www.newsinslowspanish.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwjer4BRCZARIsABK4QeVZWByXe4VdYjuxs21JnYkJbHTJETRIq8dPM7Is6QnPfIWeCc5Rh2kaAngzEALw_wcB

Also, Duolingo intermediate can help you to consolidate and remember your Spanish.

SPAN 393: This course will be taught in person (students-professor live interaction) with only a few online meetings. I am waiting to see what room we will get. No group screenings; all films will be available online.

Office hours will be outside when weather permits or delivered through zoom by appointment.
