B.A. Economics and Mathematics from Elmira College; PhD in Economics from University of Pittsburgh
Lhakpa Sherpa received his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Elmira College in New York and a PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. His primary area of research is macroeconomics. His current research focuses on studying aggregate effects of existing policies regarding education finance. He is also interested in studying structural changes in the economy, especially as they pertain to changes in the demand and supply of labor across different demographic groups. He enjoys teaching courses in macroeconomics, money and banking, public economics and quantitative methods among others. He likes to spend his free time hiking, playing soccer and learning about eastern philosophy.
