Sewanee Art Professor Pradip Malde recently published a book of photograph entitled From Where Loss Comes, an exploration of the harrowing practice of female genital mutilation in Tanzania. Malde partnered with Sarah Mwaga, founder of the Anti Female Genital Mutilation Network, traveling 3000 over three years documenting the practice, its customs, and photographing the people and sites involved in this practice.
