Through solicitation mailings, emails, social media posts, phone, virtual and in-person visits and events, staff engage with alumni, parents, friends and organizations to cultivate donor interest and support for on-going operational needs, scholarships, internships, academic and extra-curricular programs and facility needs.
Alumni and Parent Programs keeps these constituents informed about Sewanee through electronic newsletters, social media posts and on- and off-campus events. APP facilitates Sewanee Club events in cities across the country and hosts regular on-campus events such as Reunions, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Commencement, Perimeter Trail Weekend, and an annual golf tournament.
Marketing and Communications uses a variety of mediums to promote Sewanee out in the world – to prospective students and parents and to inform other constituencies (including alumni, parents, friends and organizations) about Sewanee. A monthly electronic “Features” offers stories of interest on faculty, students and alumni, and an electronic magazine provides more in-depth coverage of topics.
