The “Pathways to Civic engagement” program offers short-term direct service opportunities to meet our community needs.
As the name implies, the program presents our students a pathway towards meaningful impact. It also seeks to fulfill our community partners’ more short-term and immediate needs.
This program is the short-term analogue of the Bonner and Canale service internship programs and aims to “widen the circle” of students engaged in community work. The program aims to augment OCEs mission and vision by providing students and community partners with an opportunity to build sustained relationships and collaborations throughout our communities to bring about positive social change together.
The program is designed to support Greek organizations in their community service and philanthropy efforts and to provide them with a myriad of opportunities to connect with the OCEs diverse community partnerships spread all over the South Cumberland Plateau.
Although this program primarily focuses on the facilitation of short-term community service projects, we plan to make several enhancements that will allow participants to experience deeper levels of community engagement through-out the year.
Whether you're a Sewanee student, community, staff or faculty member, the Pathways to CE program is excited to help you explore your interests and connect you with our community partners.
