Many departments offer formal, structured tutoring programs. If you do not see the subject you need listed below, please speak with your professor about tutoring options.

Tutoring Programs

Accounting

Drop-in tutoring for financial accounting is available on the following days:

Monday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tuesday: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Thursday: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: main floor of duPont Library

 

Chemistry

Tutoring for CHEM 119, CHEM 120, and CHEM 150 is available on the following days: 

Days: Sunday, Tuesday

Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Location: Spencer 264

 

Tutoring is also available for CHEM 201.

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Location: Spencer 262 (Monday, Thursday); Spencer 264 (Tuesday)

Economics

Tutoring is available for students enrolled in ECON 102, ECON 120, and ECON 201. Drop-in tutoring is offered on the following days:

Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Foreign Languages

Tutoring is available for students studying foreign languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. Consult your professor and/or visit the Language Resource Center, located on the second floor of Gailor Hall (room 225), for specific details about tutoring options for the language you are studying.

The Language Resource Center is also home to additional resources to support your foreign language study.

Mathematics

Drop-in tutoring is available for calculus.

Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Time: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Location: Woods Labs 121

Pre-med/pre-health

One-on-one tutoring is available for students pursuing the pre-health curriculum. Details about the tutoring program, including tutoring availability and how to request a tutor, are available on the pre-health programs web page.

Additional Academic Support

Center for Speaking & Listening

The Center for Speaking and Listening, located on the main floor of duPont Library, provides objective peer support to Sewanee students who seek assistance with presentations in any discipline.
