The mission of the E.L. Kellerman Language Resource Center is to provide technical support to students and faculty in modern foreign languages and to provide opportunities to hear and speak the target language.

International Carnival Tour of Language Houses

9th Annual International Karaoke

Students worked hard practicing their songs in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Latin, Russian, and Spanish.  There was food from around the world and prizes for best solo, small group, and whole class acts.  Read more to find out who won and hear a bit of their songs.

It takes 2 minutes to answer the Language Diversity at Sewanee Survey and help us gain a snapshot of the diversity of languages spoken by members of the Sewanee community: students, faculty, and staff.

Come to Naylor Auditorium in Gailor on Monday, April 10 at 4:30 where we will share the results of the survey and hear from linguistics professor, Dr. Mark Preslar, how multiple languages contribute to our cognition and worldview, and what a gift it is to be multilingual.

8th Annual International Karaoke Night

7:00 PM

At International Karaoke Night, students of all levels sing songs in the language that they are studying.  It's a night of fun, food, music, prizes, friendly competition, and learning about other cultures and their music.  Read more to see a video and find out who won!

Yoga at the Language Resource Center

Foreign Language Yoga is every Friday at 4:00pm and 5:00pm, with different languages each time.  End your stressful week and start your weekend refreshed! You will effortlessly absorb the language as you follow along to a yoga video conducted in your language.  We will have windows open and masks on in Gailor 225.  We have mats, but you are encouraged to bring your own if possible.  Check your language's page to see the schedule
