Luis Mendez is originally from Los Angeles, CA, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then moved to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for his graduate work, earning a Master’s in Psychology.
Professor Mendez’s current research focuses on identity, phenotype, language, mental health, and scale development. He has taught courses in research methods, introductory statistics, and lifespan development at the undergraduate level, and developmental psychology at the graduate level.
Professor Mendez is a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Research on Child Development (SRCD) and the Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA). During his free time, he enjoys crossing states off his list (42/50 so far), playing soccer, and delving into the stock market!
