Brad Sturgill earned his Ph.D. in economics from North Carolina State University. Prior to pursuing his graduate degree, he attended Appalachian State University where he earned a B.S.B.A. in Economics. His fields of specialization are economic growth and macroeconomics. Sturgill’s research interests are in the areas of economic growth and development. His current focus is the theoretical and empirical study of factor eliminating technological progress. This includes factor share measurement, and much of what he does analyzes the implications of non-constant factor shares on development and growth accounting. Sturgill is also interested in the impacts of regulation and institutional quality on economic growth. He teaches Macroeconomic Principles, Intermediate Macroeconomics and Growth Theory.
