Dr. Stephanie Batkie Won the Medieval Academy of America's Robert L. Kindrick–CARA Award for Outstanding Service to Medieval Studies.
The Robert L. Kindrick–CARA Award for Outstanding Service to Medieval Studies recognizes individuals who have developed, promoted, and administered Medieval Studies programming, curricula, and research—work that often goes unrecognized by the profession at large. The Medieval Academy of America is the largest national association of medievalists in all disciplines. Dr. Batkie, who is the Director of the Sewanee Medieval Colloquium and a member of the Sewanee Medieval and Early Modern Studies Steering Committee, has developed the Sewanee Medieval Colloquium into a major international conference for medievalists, and was instrumental in the curriculum for the Medieval and Early Modern Studies Program at Sewanee. If you see her, please congratulate her on this major award!
