Save the Date: Easter 2026 Pre-departure Orientation is planned for November 18, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in Naylor Auditorium. Attendance is mandatory for all students studying away or abroad in the Easter 2026 term. 


Sewanee hosts mandatory pre-departure orientation events in November for our students studying away and abroad in the Easter term and again in April for students studying away or abroad in the Advent & Summer terms. 

Pre-Departure paperwork is due November 1 for Easter study away & April 1 for Advent and Summer study away.

STEP - Smart Traveler Enrollment Program

If you are traveling outside the United States, U.S. Citizens and nationals should enroll in the U.S. Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). Students will get direct and reliable safety and security information while studying at international schools or programs.

  • Get updates about health, weather, safety, and security for your destination.
  • Plan ahead using information from the local U.S. embassy.
  • Help the embassy or consulate contact you if there's an emergency like a natural disaster, civil unrest, or a family emergency.
