Save the Date: Pre-departure Orientation for students studying abroad in Advent 2026 is planned for April 9th, 2026 in Blackman Auditorium. Attendance is mandatory for all students studying away or abroad in the Advent & Summer 2026 terms.
Sewanee hosts two (2) mandatory pre-departure orientation events every year. One in November for our students studying away and abroad in the Easter term and again in April for students studying abroad in the Advent & Summer terms. Students attending domestic study away programs need not attend.

Register with the Embassy
If you are traveling outside the United States, U.S. Citizens and nationals should enroll in the U.S. Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). Students will get direct and reliable safety and security information while studying at international schools or programs.
