In addition to our guidance document and supported resources, the Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) division offers a self-guided course for those who are interested in learning about the definitions of AI, some practical and effective applications, and the ethical considerations that all are part of using this technology. Successful completion of this course grants you a certificate you may use to show others that you've learned more deeply about AI and how to appropriately use our tools.

Follow the instructions below to enroll yourself in the our Artificial Intelligence Literacy and Guidance Course via the University's learning management system, D2L/Brightspace.  


step one: login to brightspace

Open a browser and go to learn.sewanee.edu. Login with your University credentials:


step two: Click on Discover

To find our self-guided AI literacy course, click on DISCOVER on the Brightspace homepage to browse through the available self-enroll courses the University offers:


step three: Find the AI Literacy and Guidance Course

You can "load more" at the bottom to find the course, or use the search bar and type in artificial intelligence to find the course:


step four: enroll yourself in the course

Click on ENROLL IN COURSE to add this to your "My Courses" and retain access. You may visit this course again anytime you like.


step five: go to content to begin the course

After reading the welcome message on the course homepage, you may click CONTENT to begin interacting with the various modules in the course.
