The Spanish House houses eight students in its six rooms: two doubles and four singles. There are two full bathrooms in the house that are shared by all residents of the house. Each room is unique in size and shape.
Spanish is the exclusive language of daily life in this campus residence where residents live in a communal setting overseen by a graduate native speaker. The house sponsors various social activities and cultural demonstrations, including the monthly Tertulia, dance parties, and movie screenings. The residents of the house also attend the weekly Spanish Table in McClurg, where students and professors gather for lunch and conversation in Spanish.

On the main floor of the house, residents can enjoy studying and hanging out in the large living room, kitchen, and dining room. The open-concept living room and dining room are often used for meetings and programs hosted by the Spanish department, and student organization, The Hispanic Organization for Latino Awareness (HOLA). The kitchen contains a stove top, oven, large sink, dishwasher, cabinet space, refrigerator, and microwave. Limited cooking supplies are provided. Students may wish to bring their own. A washing machine and dryer are also located on the main floor. The Spanish House is air-conditioned. Residents of the Spanish House also enjoy a covered front porch with outdoor seating and a grill. Parking is shared in surrounding lots with St. Luke’s Hall, Hoffman Hall, and the Women’s Center.
