Sewanee, The University of the South Residence Life looks forward to welcoming our new and returning residents for the Advent 2026 semester!

To ensure a smooth process for move-in you must arrive and check in with the Office of Residential Life on the specified move-in day. More details to come. Please monitor your student email for updates.

New Student Move-In
  • First Year Student Move-In (FYE)
    • Wednesday, August 19: 2 PM - 5 PM
    • Thursday, August 20: 8:30 AM - 12 PM

New Students will pick up room keys and their student ID cards at the check-in table. 

Returning Student Move-In
  • Sunday, August 23 - Tuesday, August 25: Returning Student Move-In
    • More specific check-in details will be provided at a later date via email and on this webpage.

Returning Students will use their ID Card from the previous year. If a student is in need of a new card they can request one here.

Early Arrival Move-In

Only Pre-Approved individuals and programs may move-in early. The Move-in Special Request form will open in the summer. Please check your email for when the form opens and the deadline to submit. 

  • Athletes arriving early for training will need to coordinate with coaches. Residential Life will send all athlete early arrival information through the Athletics Department
