Are you interested in joining a fraternity or sorority? Here, you’ll find all the information you need, from recruitment registration to recruitment schedules and FAQs.

the recruitment process

Primary recruitment is the process of a potential new member (PNM) meeting all fraternities or sororities and learning what they might want to get out of and contribute to the Greek community, should they receive an invitation and choose to join. Sewanee’s primary recruitment is a uniquely structured opportunity to learn about each fraternity or sorority and meet the undergraduate members involved in Greek Life. It also provides space for fraternities and sororities to get to know the PNMs. Primary recruitment is typically held within the first month of the Easter (spring) semester.

Upper-class recruitment (or informal recruitment) is another recruitment opportunity for fraternities and sororities that wish to add new members. It is less structured than the primary recruitment process and consists of fewer dates. Upper-class recruitment is typically held within the first month of the Advent (fall) semester.
