STUDENTS CAN APPLY FOR THE CAREY FELLOWS PROGRAM IN ONE OF TWO WAYS:
- AS INCOMING FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
- DURING THE FALL SEMESTER OF THEIR SOPHOMORE YEAR
APPLYING AS AN INCOMING FIRST-YEAR STUDENT
Incoming first-year students who intend to declare a business minor may apply to become Carey Fellows after they have received notification of their admission to the University of the South. The invitation to apply for the Carey Fellows program will be extended to all admitted students shortly after notification of their acceptance to the University. Incoming first-year students are required to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and interest in business, including the intention to declare a business minor. Students who submit their applications on the deadline of April 1 will have until April 5 to submit their video essay. Decision notifications will be sent to all applicants on April 21.
APPLYING AS A SOPHOMORE
Sewanee students who have achieved a minimum 3.33 GPA and intend to declare a business minor may also apply to be Carey Fellows first semester of their sophomore year. Applicants are required to submit an official transcript, obtain letters of recommendation, write an essay detailing their interest in the program, and complete an interview with the selection committee.
