Dr. Paige Schneider's Politics of Poverty and Inequality class partnered with Dr. Jennifer Michaels Literature and Composition class and traveled to Montgomery, Alabama on November 10 2019, to visit the Legacy Museum, and the Peace and Justice Memorial. The museum provides an excellent interactive learning experience about racial injustice from enslavement to present day mass incarceration. The somber and emotionally powerful public memorial, memorializes African Americans who were lynched in the United States during the period after Reconstruction into the 1950s.
