Through a generous grant from the Center for Teaching, the German Department acquired a button maker. They have been putting it to good use so far. Students in German 103 gathered outside to make gender pronoun buttons in German to know how to address each other in class correctly with sie, er and xier. The sunny day even allowed them to complete the project outside.
There is a button-making event planned for Saturday, November 20 at the German House. Students can make gender pronoun buttons, German phrases-cute, snarky, political, funny-and everything they always wanted to put on a button.
