Assistant Professor of Finance
I am a financial economist with research interests in private equity and venture capital. Using innovative micro-level datasets, I explore the role that private equity and venture capital play across a firm's lifecycle. I am currently co-founding a project that uses large language models to extract structured financial data from legal documents, helping address the data scarcity that makes privately held, PE- and VC-backed companies difficult to study. Before joining Sewanee, I worked at Cornerstone Research, providing economic and financial consulting and litigation support in high-profile securities matters.
