Dr. Ford is a Visiting Associate Professor of Economics. She earned her B.S. (1988) and M.S. (1990) degrees in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. (1997) in Agricultural Economics from The Pennsylvania State University.

Prior to teaching classes at the University of the South, she spent time as a Research Associate in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at Penn State, working in the area of dairy farm management. After moving to Sewanee with her family in 2000, Dr. Ford spent several years as an assistant coach for the university volleyball team. Since 2003, Dr. Ford has been teaching in the Economics Department. Her teaching and research interests are in the area of agricultural economics and natural resource economics. She has taught several different courses at the University of the South, including Introduction to Economics, Environmental Economics, Health Economics, and Political Economy of Sustainable Development. Dr. Ford lives in Sewanee with her husband, Dr. Steve Ford, and their two children.
