Rongson Pongdee received his B.S. in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. He completed his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Texas A&M University followed by serving as a postdoctoral research associate at The University of Texas at Austin. At Sewanee, he has taught courses in the introductory organic chemistry sequence as well as upper-level courses in modern synthetic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
