When: Fall 2025
What: The semester-long Sewanee-in-France program invites students to take part in rich cultural and linguistic experiences in the Brittany region of France. Students who participate in the program will be able to:
- Increase proficiency in speaking, writing, listening to, and reading French through intensive linguistic immersion offered in traditional and experiential learning spaces over an extended period.
- Develop intercultural competence through a critical investigation of cultural practices observed at home and in France and through respectful dialogue with members of the francophone world who reside in France.
- Understand one’s identity as a second language learner and speaker (of French) and as a member of the global community of French speakers by being an active member of the classroom community made up of French speakers from across the world.
Eligibility: Students must have completed FREN 300 or higher and be in good academic and social standing.
