Sewanee is the ideal location for a memorable event. We will happily assist you in selecting the perfect location for your event needs. Please submit a request to reserve one of our venues, and a member of our team will contact you within seven (7) business days to further discuss your event. Please note: Venue Services may not be reserved more than eighteen (18) months in advance.

Our Venue Rental Spaces

Centennial House

This neoclassical home with a beautiful lawn is a popular location for wedding events and celebrations.

Rental Rate: $5,375.00 (tent rental not included)
Security Deposit: $1,000.00
Capacity: 275

Cravens Hall

Our largest indoor event space is perfect for receptions, banquets, and concerts.

Rental Rate: $1,600.00
Security Deposit: $500.00

Capacity: 300 for a seated dining event, 350 for a standing reception, and 400 for a seated lecture

Green's View Overlook

An iconic Sewanee overlook offers spectacular sunset views.

Rental Rate:  $215.00

Security Deposit:  $100.00

Capacity:  75
Vehicle Parking: No more than 15 cars allowed

Lake Cheston Pavilion

The pavilion accommodates small events such as birthdays, scout meetings, and other small gatherings. The area is always open to the public and not available for large private events.

Rental Rate: $50 per hour

Security Deposit: Half of the rental rate

Capacity: 50 

McGriff Alumni House

Located in the heart of campus, this intimate space is ideal for weddings, receptions, and meetings. 

Rental Rate: $2,500 for weddings, rehearsal dinners, and formal celebrations, plus an additional $500 for tented spaces on McGriff grounds (only available if renting the House); $750.00 for daytime meetings and events

Security Deposit: $500.00

Capacity: 50 for a seated or daytime event and 75 for a standing reception

Memorial Cross

Known as a symbol of faith and spirituality, the war memorial offers stunning views from the bluff.

Rental Rate: $215.00

Security Deposit: $100.00

Capacity: 75 
Vehicle Parking: No more than 15 cars allowed.

Women's Center

The Mary Sue Cushman room is a versatile space for meetings, celebrations, and lectures.

Rental Rate: $535.00

Security Deposit: $175.00 

Capacity:  70 for a seated dining event, 100 for a seated lecture, and 125 for a standing reception

Checking for availability and making a reservation for a venue?

Please complete the Venue Availability Request. Once our team has provided specific details for your venue and communicated the University of the South Rental Usage Policy, we will send you a contract to review, complete, and sign. Your rental​ ​contract​ ​agreement​ ​and full payment for the venue are required before confirming your reservation.
