Smith Career Day Highlights Careers in Banking, Consulting, and Finance
September 11, 2024
Hosted by Career Readiness + Student Success and the Babson Center for Global Commerce each September, Smith Career Day gives Sewanee students a chance to interact with young alumni to learn more about the fields of banking, consulting, and finance.
Taking place on Thursday, Sept. 12, the day will consist of one-on-one conversations, panel discussions, and presentations that provide students from all majors with guidance on how to succeed in the recruiting and hiring process, as well as how to chart a path towards rewarding careers in those fields.
"Every year, I’m grateful to our alumni for returning to the Mountain to engage with current students," says Kim Heitzenrater, associate dean for career readiness and student success. "Our students are fortunate to have access to alumni who serve in these leadership roles and to additional alumni who take their calls throughout the year, who mentor them, and who help them succeed as they search for internships and enter the job market."
This year’s program includes sessions on finance interview skills, consulting case interview skills, recruiters’ advice for succeeding as a candidate, and insider insight into the banking, consulting, and finance fields.
