Peer Career Advocates play an important role in supporting the work of the Career Readiness by providing basic information and support to peers in how to use the office’s valuable resources.

Elizabeth Fisher C'24

Elizabeth joined the PCA team in Spring 2023 and was named one of the Peer Career Advocate Student Directors in Fall 2023. She enjoys working on LinkedIn profiles and planning alumni panels in the Sewanee campus community. Elizabeth is a senior from Houston, TX, and is an International and Global Studies major and Business Entrepreneurship minor, focusing on the history of South Korean skincare. She is a protégé at Rare Beauty, worked as the Global Communications Intern at Drunk Elephant, and currently works as the Social Media Content Creation Intern at 54 Thrones. Elizabeth hopes to go into global marketing and product development in the cosmetics industry after graduation.

Tuyen Le C’24

Tuyen is an international senior from Vietnam and a double major in Environmental Studies and International & Global Studies at Sewanee. She became a Peer Career Advocate in 2021 and currently serves as a Student Director. Tuyen is particularly interested in helping students orient themselves with graduate schools, fellowships, and written materials such as resumes or personal statements. Tuyen received the Carl Biehl Social Sciences Fellowship and conducted a summer ethnography about Cambodian civil society and hydropower development on the Mekong River in 2023. She also has experience in applying for competitive scholarships and fellowships. Tuyen would like to pursue a higher degree in Development Studies after graduating from Sewanee.

Carson Coody C’25

In the Fall of 2023, Carson became a part of the PCA team. In his free time, he enjoys reading and using LinkedIn. Originally from Canton, GA, Carson is pursuing an Economics major along with minors in Business and Computer Science. He aims to use data analytics as a powerful tool to make informed decisions and contribute towards a more sustainable and efficient future. Currently, Carson serves as the CEO of Tiger Student Ventures (TSV) and worked at Sewanee Datalab this past summer.

Yuliia Humeniuk C’24

Yuliia Humeniuk, a senior from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, joined the PCA team in the fall of 2023. She's pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry and Neuroscience, with plans for a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry or a related field. Yuliia conducts research in platinum-based chemotherapy compounds in Dr. Bachman's lab. She's an active member of the Organization for Cross-Cultural Understanding, contributing to cross-cultural awareness events on campus, and enjoys helping others with resumes and professional materials.

Nhung Nguyen C‘26

Nicole Nguyen is an international sophomore from Vietnam with a major in Economics, minor in Italian studies, and just joined the PCA team this fall of 2023. When she’s not immersed in her studies, Nicole dedicates her time as a Canale intern, working with the Business Development and Marketing Team which aim to promote the development of businesses. Nicole enjoys meeting new people and helping fellow students enhance their resumes. Her dream is to travel to Antarctica and witness the charm of penguins in their natural habitat. 

Mian Ahmad Shah C’24

Mian Ahmad Shah is a Senior from Islamabad, Pakistan, and has been a Peer Career Advocate since Fall 2022. He is an Economics major with a Business minor and plans to pursue a career in Finance. As a PCA, Mian enjoys organizing Alumni panels for different departments. On Campus, he is a Proctor and also serves as the Portfolio Manager for Green’s View Capital student Investment club. Outside work, Mian enjoys playing chess and road biking.

Madeline Thornburg C’26

Madeline Thornburg is a sophomore from Naples, Florida and started as a Peer Career Advocate in the autumn of 2023. She is a psychology major and chemistry and art minor, dedicated to the pre-med track. As a PCA, Maddy enjoys organizing alumni panels for her fellow peers. She is also involved in other organizations on campus like Sewanee Health Professions Society and Art Forum. When she is not focusing on her studies, she spends her time engaging in community service.
