Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is pleased to provide an opportunity to assist with the education of future professionals in the field of counseling psychology and social work. CAPS provides onsite internship opportunities in coordination with several local graduate level training programs.

Sarah Campbell

CLINICIAN-IN-TRAINING

Sarah is a Sewanee native and graduate of the University of the South, where she earned her degree in Anthropology. She is currently a graduate student at Richmont Graduate University in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is pursuing a certificate in Trauma Counseling. Sarah's clinical interests include trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and identity development. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Component-Based Psychotherapy (CBP), and somatic approaches, while incorporating multicultural perspectives into her work. As a certified yoga instructor, she values the connection between mind and body and believes healing can occur through increased awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful relationships. Before entering the counseling field, Sarah spent many years building community through creative endeavors, including owning two art galleries, an online farmers market, and organizing community-based events.

Nancy Kate Ryder

CLINICIAN-IN-TRAINING

Nancy-Kate is currently a graduate student at Richmont Graduate University. She is committed to creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and relationships in a way that feels safe and meaningful to them. She views counseling as a collaborative process where clients can explore their inner experiences while building greater clarity and confidence in how they move through the world. Her goal is to support clients in strengthening their sense of agency, navigating challenges, and deepening their connection with themselves and others. Having lived in multiple countries, she values connecting with different perspectives and experiences, which continues to shape how she engages with others.
