This December, the Sewanee Symphony Orchestra is joining with The Caverns and the South Cumberland Community Fund to bring something truly special to our community: Christmas in The Caverns: Symphony & Sing-Off on Friday, December 5, 2025.
This one-of-a-kind holiday concert will take place deep underground in The Caverns’ world-renowned venue, where the orchestra will bring festive music to life in a breathtaking setting. Adding to the magic, the evening will feature a regional Sing-Off competition, giving local singers the extraordinary opportunity to perform live with the Symphony.
We’re especially excited about the Sing-Off, because it opens the door for singers of all ages to be part of this event. Auditions are open now through September 15. To apply, singers just need to share two recordings of themselves singing (MP3, or a YouTube link), including one of the songs we’ll perform together: “Santa Baby,” “Santa Dear,” or “It Wouldn’t Be Christmas Without You.” Finalists will sing with the Sewanee Symphony Orchestra on December 5 and compete for prizes like cash awards, tickets, and more.
