The Sewanee Village Investment initiative will help create a vibrant and welcoming gateway to Sewanee and to the University of the South. Over time, the Village will showcase a mixed-use environment integrating new businesses, civic spaces, and new housing. Students, visitors and residents will enjoy enhanced walkable green spaces, beautiful flora, and a network of paths, trails, and bicycle lanes that will leave no doubt that you are in a welcoming and vibrant community.

University Commitment

The University has committed to invest $10M in new residential and commercial initiatives that will begin to bring years of planning to life. The Village of Sewanee is a vital part of the experience of students, faculty, staff, residents, alumni and visitors. Recognizing the strategic importance of the Village’s location and role to the community, the University will embark on a series of investment projects intended to invigorate the area, and bring a new level of vitality to the Sewanee community.
