What is a Virtual timeline?

Virtual timelines are interactive timelines with multimedia elements that allow you to highlight the chronology of your topic. If you are interested in creating a virtual timeline the university supports Timeline JS.   

What is Timeline Js?

Timeline JS is a free tool that allows users to create interactive timelines featuring text, images, and videos.  Timelines created with Timeline JS can be embedded into a WordPress website. Additionally, it supports group projects, allowing several people to work on the same timeline simultaneously.

Create a Timeline 
  1. Go to TimelineJS website 
  2. Click on "Make a Timeline
  3. Follow the instructions under "Make a Timeline" on the Timeline JS website
embed on a Wordpress Site 
  1. Follow steps 2-4 on the "Make A Timeline" on the Timeline JS website
  2. Login to your WordPress website 
  3. Navigate to the page on website you want to add your timeline 
  4. Click on the blue plus in the upper left hand corner 
  5. Scroll down an until your see "Custom HTML" and select it
  6. Past the code you copied into the box that says "Writ HTML"  
  7. Click "Save"
