On April 7, 2016, Post Baccalaureate Fellow Alex Friedl (Sewanee C'15) presented a poster about Rebel's Rest at the 81st Annual Meeting for the Society of American Archaeology in Orlando, Florida. The poster was presented in a Southeastern themed symposium and details the multidisciplinary research approach at the Rebel's Rest site, as well as preliminary findings from artifact analysis conducted by students and faculty.
The Rebel's Rest Research Project represents a wonderful opportunity for exploring the history of the university while involving several different departments as well as faculty, staff, students and community members. Concentrated excavations at the site will continue this summer, during the 2016 SEI Field School in Archaeology.
