What does a typical day look like for you?

Lots of time in the lab at the moment. Patient care once a month.

How did your experience at Sewanee impact your career trajectory?

I pursued an MD/PhD track as opposed to a traditional MD path directly as a result of my molecular biology classes at Sewanee with Dr. Kikis. My interest in research stemmed from the questions taking those classes generated.

What advice would you give to someone who would like to go to the field you’re in?
Long training path but entirely worth it if you can't decide between the bench and the clinic.
