N H Manzur E Maula earned his PhD in Economics from Texas Tech University. Prior to pursuing his doctoral degree, he completed an MA in Economics from Ritsumeikan University, and an MBA degree (concentration in Finance) from University of Dhaka.

Manzur’s fields of specializations are macroeconomics, monetary economics, and financial economics. His current research focuses on the impact of geopolitical uncertainty on macroeconomy and financial markets. Prior to joining at Texas Tech University, he worked as a joint director of Bangladesh Bank (Central Bank of Bangladesh). There he received the central bank’s ‘Best Employee Recognition Award’ in 2015 for developing financial stability and macroprudential policies for entire financial system in Bangladesh. He also received advanced trainings on bank resolution and macroprudential policies from different central banks and international organizations around the world, including The Deutsche Bundesbank (Germany), The International Monetary Fund (IMF), The World Bank, The Bank Negara Malaysia (Malaysia), The Istanbul School of Central Banking (Turkey), and The Reserve Bank of India (India).
