50th Reunion

The 50th Reunion giving tradition at Sewanee has a long and storied history. Since 2000, 50th reunion classes have created endowed funds for scholarships, research, internships and other programs, and supported brick and mortar projects as well.

With the University’s current focus on meeting full need and the urgent need to grow scholarship endowment by at least $200M in order to support full need, our class endeavors to create the Class of 1972 Endowed Scholarship Fund for needs-based scholarship support. Many of us benefited from need-based aid during our time at Sewanee. The Class of 1972 Scholarship will provide need-based aid to help students afford a Sewanee education. Our scholarship will impact students for generations to come! While the threshold level to create the fund is $150,000, we hope to far exceed that number with multi-year pledges, gifts of stock, gifts from IRAs and various planned giving vehicles. Some class members may choose to use several gift types (outright and planned) in order to make their best gift in honor of our 50th Reunion.

For questions about making a gift to Sewanee, contact Terri Williams at twilliam@sewanee.edu or 931-598-1129. To learn about other giving options including planned gifts, contact Allison Cardwell at aacardwe@sewanee.edu or 931-598-1751 or visit https://sewaneelegacy.com/.
