A Message from the Chief
The Sewanee Police Department is committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus by providing professional policing in partnership with our community. The Sewanee Police Department has a long history of service to the Sewanee community; our partnerships are built on relationships of mutual trust, respect, and our commitment to treating all people fairly. It is through these relationships that we focus efforts on preventing crime and eliminating the underlying cause of problems.
Members of the Sewanee Police Department take their duties as guardians of our community seriously and strive for excellence. We continue to gain knowledge and grow through training, education, mentoring, and experience. However, our efforts cannot be successful without community involvement. As members of this community, we all share the combined responsibility of safety and security. Working together, we will provide a safe, secure environment in which to live, learn, work, and grow.
As Interim Chief of Police for The University of the South, I am honored to work with dedicated police officers and communication officers, people that truly care about the job they are doing and the community in which they serve.
